WSOG ’25 Event #11 : SouthKing shocks the WSOG: First Entry, First Bracelet and leaves DeckHole in ruins.

In his first ever WSOG Event, SouthKing won the 3-Game Mix. The story of the night was SouthKing’s spectacular dismantling of the overwhelming chip-leader, DeckHole. DeckHole had established a massive advantage in the final rounds, but SouthKing unleashed a barrage of pot-size river bets, systematically wiping out DeckHole’s lead and sending the former chip-leader crashing out in third place.

The High-damage clash between the top two allowed Linux to execute a masterful, low-profile strategy, deploying precise fire control to creep quietly into a high-value second-place finish simply by surviving the carnage. Earlier in the tourney, Yim Yames secured a major bounty by eliminating the legendary point leader nit K. Godel but bubbled the final payouts in fifth place, while TSL33 held a respectable position to take fourth. SouthKing’s debut victory is a stunning reminder that newcomers are poised to take next year’s championship.

WSOG ’25 Event #10 : Godel goes back-to-back leveraging the Sudduth Razz genetics to pull off another victory.

K. Godel puts in a solid Razz performance besting TimTheGreat, who placed 2nd and Scott22Champ who placed 3rd. It was quite a battle starting near the bubble with 4 remaining with fairly even stacks. Linux dropped out in 4th place, leaving the current 3 point leaders to an epic Razz battle. Eventually, Scott got knocked out so that only TimTheGreat and Godel remained. TimTheGreat took out the point leader (Mag Kirwin) for the bounty and also, was hit early in the tournament and was on fumes. By surviving, he received Chip&Chair bonus. While Godel (who’s stack never seemed at risk) earned the fast break bonus.

WSOG ’25 Event #09 : Godel wins his first bracelet of the year in the Mixed Omaha Event

Godel started off immediately nearly D.O.A., but steadily climbed until Solitude whacked him late in the tournament, putting him at risk of exiting once again. However, he fought back with some decent breaks taking 1st in the Omaha Mixed Game and collecting the chip&chair bonus by going from last to first. Malarkey, who was dominated throughout most of the tournament and knocked out the point leader for the bounty, ended up in 4th after some major blows at the final table. McClary was also strong throughout but couldn’t get to heads-up (finishing 3rd). It was the new comer, SOLITUDE, that came on strong at the end, going heads-up with Godel, but ultimately falling short and finishing 2nd.
The WSOG is heating up as the season starts to finish, with a incredibly close 4 player race. This is by-far, the closest 4 player race to occur this late in a WSOG season. With 1st thru 4th only separated by 5 points.
Scott22Champ seems to be always in the running only 3 points to Mag Kirwin, who despite being the 2nd player knocked out, kept his 1st place position. With this win, Sudduth jumped over TimTheGreat into third, while TimTheGreat fell to fourth place, but still just 5 points behind the leader.

WSOG ’25 Event #08 : Mag Kirwin pulls into Gundam point lead by winning the prestigious Badugi event.

Mag Kirwin blasted out of the gate, winning a hand just before the cut-off to give him the fast-break-bonus. He then knocked out Scott22Champ for the bounty bonus, ending with a long-fought heads-up battle with Godel. Deckhole bubbled out. No one advanced (or dropped) their position from Level 4 onward, leaving the Chip&Chair bonus to Linux.

WSOG ’25 Event #07 : TimTheGreat takes two-in-a-row, jumping to 3rd in Gundam Points and showing he can handle short-table play in two different games.

The new 4-Seat format is fast paced and now has exclusively been won by one player (TimTheGreat). DeckHole got a fast start, but was destroyed by Mag Kirwin in a couple of hands just before the break, allowing Kirwin to take the Fast Break. Meanwhile, Beagle’s crafty pocket aces play took another huge hunk from DeckHole’s stack and set Beagle up for the Chip&Chair Bonus. But eventually Beagle bubbled out while Mircra took the bounty by knocking out Scott22Champ.
A new comer, Leonardo, managed to squeeze into the money but got knocked out by a brutal AQo Vs. AQs, where Leonardo held the suit advantage but four diamonds hit the board sending him packing.

WSOG ’25 Event #06 : TimTheGreat finally wakes up from his 2025 nap to take down the Omaha 4-Seat Event.

Jumping out to a quick lead for the fast-break-bonus, knocking out the point leader for the bounty-bonus and ending with the victory point bonus, TimTheGreat jump from the bottom of the pack to 4th place in Gundam Points, while ScottTheChamp manages to hang on to 2nd place in the tournament, extending his lead Gundam Point lead over Mag Kirwin (2nd) and Linux (3rd) in Gundam Points.

At one point TimTheGreat almost gave up the chip lead, but managed a huge bluff against Lukem (who took 3rd in the tournament). JeanGreen held on, getting into the money, but with a short stack was soon dispensed. TimTheGreat Applied huge pressure by putting Lukem all-in at a critical moment on a paired board. This put both ScottTheChamp and Lukem with short stacks and it was just a matter of time before one of the two had to commit their stacks.

WSOG ’25 Event #05 : Scott22 reminds the field that he is a 2-time Gundam Champion winning the Stud event and jumping into the Gundam point lead.

Scott22Champ started slow (7th place at the break) but once he had the chip lead he didn’t give it up through-out the tournament, earning the Chip & Chair bonus. He even collected the bounty by knocking out Mag-Kirwin, collecting an astonishing 17 points in a 10 player tourney. It was TLS33 who jumped ahead quick for the fast-break, but couldn’t manage to outlast Linux who battled from a very short stack at the final table to finish in 2nd place. TLS33 did finish third with DeckHole taking the bubble.

WSOG ’25 Event #04 : Malarkey pulls ahead fast and never looks back, taking 1st place in the Two-Game Mix.

Malarkey was chip leader throughout most of the tournament, grabbing the fast-break bonus and the bounty on Mag Kirwin (the current point leader.) His stack never seemed to be in jeopardy as he seemed more cautious than usual, and avoided pot-committing situations. Mircra has been on a bad run lately, which continued as he bubbled. The game was pretty static from level 4 on, with the exception being Linux, who moved up 4-spots earning the chip-n-chair bonus. The money battle was fairly short, with the first cashout casualty being Godel, finishing 4th, while Mag Kirwin picked up the points needed to stay in 1st place cashing in 3rd place. Scott22Champ, as always, finished strong in 2nd place moving him into 3rd over all in Gundam Points.

WSOG ’25 Event #03 : Scott22Champ goes from an initial low-stack to winner by capping off a grueling battle from the bubble on.

Scott22Champ started slow, but built his stack continuously by dishing-out some coolers and avoiding traps and mistakes. The previous top 3 point leaders (TLS33, Godel and DeckHole) were the first ones ejected from the 5-Card Draw event, setting the stage for the rest of the field to catch up and Mag Kirwin to leap ahead. Meanwhile, Hoffman got off to a very fast start, collecting the fast-break, while Jean (the assassin) knocked out Sumner for one of the two bounties and Scott22Champ knocked out Godel, collecting both a bounty and a chip-n-chair bonus. Linux fought hard keeping his short stack in play into the money, while TimTheGreat finally leaped into 2nd place. While Mircra bubbled, the points he collected, puts him in the mix with 7 other players clustered near the top of the leader board. It is really still anyones Championship to win going into the last 3-quarters of the World Series of Gundam season.

WSOG ’25 Event #02 : Sumner (TLS33) goes wire-to-wire with a dominant victory

Sumner, aka TLS33, stacked several players in the first levels of the Pot-Limit Omaha event, giving him the Fast-Break bonus and the momentum to carry him into the victory seat. Using his chips fearlessly, Sumner knocked out players throughout the tourney. Godel, who got damaged early on, nursed his sub-par stack to the heads-up battle with TLS33, knocking out DeckHole (for the bounty) and picking up 2nd place and the Chip-n-Chair bonus. Meanwhile, Mircra played a very solid game with 2nd in chips going into the money, however, couldn’t avoid a river spike that knocked him out in 3rd. Shull, having to recover from flopping the nutz and getting it in good on the turn (no need to say how it turned out) finished 4th. Jean also played a very solid game, but unfortunately, bubbled.
