McClary started off rough, but managed to fight back by knocking out the current Gundam point leader (M. Sudduth) and the 2nd place point leader (M. Braswell, who finished 2nd in the tournament). Rico P. dropped in and played strong the entire night but slipped to 3rd before getting knocked out. The other Braswell (Scott), finished fourth while the current Gundam point leader, M. Sudduth bubbled. Meanwhile, M. Decker maxed out the 3-rebuy limit and didn’t even cash.
After a brutal start to the tournament, where it looked like M.Braswell was going to overtake his father (S.Braswell) for the year long WSOG Championship victory, Scott fought back, climbing from 20th place to finish in 7th which was enough to secure 143 points (5 more points than 2nd place) and win the 2022 WSOG Championship. Decker’s strong 1st place finish in the Main Event (2nd consecutive Main Event victory) took him from 5th place to tied-for-second with M.Sudduth (who went from 4th to tied-for-second). Both M.Braswell and D.Shull dropped a few places, with M.Braswell falling from 2nd to 4th and D.Shull falling from 3rd to 5th.
Decker wins his 2nd Main Event victory in a record breaking field of 22 players! This year’s Main Event was huge, starting with 3 tables. AndreaW. played strong throughout the tournament finishing in 2nd place, while C.Dorsen brutalized players on his way to 3rd place. M.Sudduth wielded his short stack just previous to the bubble bursting to fight his way to 4th place. In a very impressive come-back, LeviC, got hit hard during the first few minutes of the tournament running into Sudduth’s straight flush (but making a very good fold.) But he fought back strong getting the Chip&Chair bonus by going from 18th place (in 3rd round) to finishing in 5th place.

McClary, the 2021 WSOG Champion, finally flings the flailing monkey off his back by taking down the Pot-Limit Omaha High/Low Bounty event, knocking out the last 4 players at the table for a total of 5 bounties collected on his way to victory. Decker took second place, while the unstoppable Scott B. still cashed in 3rd (and once again, pulls further ahead in Gundam Points.)

Decker manages to overcome his typical dismal tournament play and place 1st in the Hold’em 6+. However, S.Braswell, finishes 2nd (again) placing him in 1st by 7 points ahead of M.Sudduth. M.Braswell is in a close 3rd. Shull got to a fast start winning the Fast Break Bonus. Meyers started slow and finished string for the Chip&Chair bonus. Interestingly, S. Braswell, lost a Bounty to Decker but picked up Sudduth’s bounty. With more than 1/2 the tournaments points still in play, anything can happen!
It was a great turnout for the first 2022 WSOG Event, with 14 players. Rico, who often put immense pressure on people after the flop, battled his way into the money, then eventually pulled into 1st place and then never gave it up. Just after finishing Deckhole off (3rd), Rico shortly snuffs out S.Braswell (2nd) and took down the first 2022 WSOG Event! Andrea (laserlips) placed 4th, while Gary was crowned the Bubble Boy (5th).

McClary’s large lead going into the 2021 Main Event cannot be overcome as he will now take control over the WSOG Championship Necklace, win the 2021 WSOG Mug and collect the $135.70 1st place prize-pool. However, Sudduth’s 2nd place finish in the Main Event catapulted him into 2nd place ($70.80) in the 2021 WSOG, over taking Meyer’s who finished 3rd ($29.50) in the year long series.
Quads for the cherry on top, as Decker wins the Main Event besting a 14 player field including Sudduth (2nd), Hoffman (3rd) and Berg (4th) with Streu as the Bubble-Boy

McClary shows his tournament skills and Badugi know-how by dominating Event #04 in the World Series of Gundam. He took control early and only gave up the lead for a few rounds. He and Sudduth got heads-up where he finished off Sudduth (who has placed 2nd in every Tournament he’s played this year, a decent feat in itself). Berg finally racks up a few Gundam Points by being getting the Baller Hand Bonus. Decker and McClary split the High Hand, and Sudduth gets the Bad Beat. But as for the the tournament, it wasn’t really ever very close… McClary had the Badugi know-how and never relinquished control.
The winning hand in the WSOG #04 Event was a good 3-card 53A against Sudd’s pretty decent 3-caHere is a link to the WSOG Event #04 Badugi full video
