McClary started off rough, but managed to fight back by knocking out the current Gundam point leader (M. Sudduth) and the 2nd place point leader (M. Braswell, who finished 2nd in the tournament). Rico P. dropped in and played strong the entire night but slipped to 3rd before getting knocked out. The other Braswell (Scott), finished fourth while the current Gundam point leader, M. Sudduth bubbled. Meanwhile, M. Decker maxed out the 3-rebuy limit and didn’t even cash.
Shull fights his way through the field knocking out M.Sudduth (3rd) for the bounty and ending up heads-up against an equally deep stacked S.Brawell (2nd). While Shull got off to a fast start, it still wasn’t fast enough to topple the Fast-Break maestro, M.Braswell (4th) who, for the fifth-time, won the fast-break bonus. Shull closes the gap between 4th & 3rd, separating himself from the peloton joining the three Gundam point leaders McClary (3rd), Braswell (2nd) and M.Sudduth (1st).
McGuire, an OG, knocked-out 5 players, collecting 6 bounties and a victory in the WSOG Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty Event. Amazingly, the top 3-spots were held by Micks (Mc’s). McIntosh almost went wire-to-wire with his fast-break bonus, however, when it came to heads-up, McGuire (who received the chip-n-chair bonus) pulled ahead and eventually applied the final blow McIntosh. McClary, a strong Gundam Championship contender finished 3rd, while the current Gundam point leader, SudduthM, finished in 4th place. The bubble-boy was Shull who remains in the front of the peloton (also 4th place) in the Gundam Championship race.
Matt Braswell is victorious in Event #05 of the World Series of Gundam. Braswell’s aggressive play throughout earned him the Fast-Break Bonus, the Bounty and the Victory points closing his lead on the 2nd place finisher and current Gundam point-leader M.Sudduth. Sudduth finished second after a grueling and long heads-up battle while L.Dang took third and the S.Braswell bubbled.
Braswell (Matt) wins this year’s WSOG Heads-Up Championship! Blasting through the winner’s bracket, Braswell does not lose a single match and ends up facing last year’s champion, SudduthM. He beats the reigning champion 2-0, taking this year’s crown and a WSOG bracelet. He also moves up to 3rd place in Gundam Points.
Godel, taking after his mom, Jean-the-assassin, not only takes 1st place for his first WSOG bracelet of the year, but also racks up a 6 player bounty count. Though he didn’t take-out McClary for the bounty point, as that was accomplished by D-Ray on his way to 2nd place (and receiving the Chip-n-Chair bonus). Third place was MeyerJ, who scrapped his way back after having his aces cracked. Hoffman finished in the money (4th). In a surprised turn-of-events, the bubble-by, McIntoshP, received a generous bubble-boy bonus of $25 from Gary Berg.
The Gundam Point Leader changed hands from McClaryT to SudduthM (Godel), tightening up 1st/2nd place (now McClary) with 3rd (BraswellM & HoffmanM) thru 4th (ShullD) close behind.
McClary took on a tough 15 player field. While the younger Braswell got off to a fast start (earning the Fast-Break Bonus) quadrupling his stack, the field battled on, with 8 players going late into the rounds. Dang poured it on towards the end taking second and earning the Chip & Chair Bonus by moving up 9 spots to finish 2nd in the event. Brasswell finished 3rd, while Sudduth (who finished strong in Event #01) took 4th. Cake ended up bubbling, and the entire field played some good Omaha.
The World Series of Gundam Championship run heats up as two players separate themselves from the field, T.McClary & M.Sudduth, by having finished strong in the first two events. However, the peloton remains compact, with 3rd place and 13th place only separated by 8 pts (less than 2nd to 3rd). With so many events remaining the Championship is still up for grabs.
Hoffman outlasts a 17 player field to take down Event #01 of the 2023 World Series of Gundam (WSOG). He started fast out-of-the-gate getting the Fast Break Bonus, and nearly kept the chip lead throughout the tournament eventually finishing off SudduthM in a long heads-up battle. MeiresonneB took third while the all-time bracelet leader, McClaryT, finished 4th. WellmanE grinded his card-dead hands from 14th to 5th, earning the Chip & Chair bonus and the bubble. Next tournament Hoffman will be a target with the Bounty Bonus coming into play.

Godel Holiday Bounty Bonus $20 for knocking out DeckholeHole
After a brutal start to the tournament, where it looked like M.Braswell was going to overtake his father (S.Braswell) for the year long WSOG Championship victory, Scott fought back, climbing from 20th place to finish in 7th which was enough to secure 143 points (5 more points than 2nd place) and win the 2022 WSOG Championship. Decker’s strong 1st place finish in the Main Event (2nd consecutive Main Event victory) took him from 5th place to tied-for-second with M.Sudduth (who went from 4th to tied-for-second). Both M.Braswell and D.Shull dropped a few places, with M.Braswell falling from 2nd to 4th and D.Shull falling from 3rd to 5th.
Decker wins his 2nd Main Event victory in a record breaking field of 22 players! This year’s Main Event was huge, starting with 3 tables. AndreaW. played strong throughout the tournament finishing in 2nd place, while C.Dorsen brutalized players on his way to 3rd place. M.Sudduth wielded his short stack just previous to the bubble bursting to fight his way to 4th place. In a very impressive come-back, LeviC, got hit hard during the first few minutes of the tournament running into Sudduth’s straight flush (but making a very good fold.) But he fought back strong getting the Chip&Chair bonus by going from 18th place (in 3rd round) to finishing in 5th place.
