The WSOG (World Series of Gundam) is a year long poker extravaganza! The 2021 WSOG schedule includes nine $22 buy-in tournaments and a final $44 buy-in WSOG Championship Tournament (for a total of 10 tournaments.) In addition to collecting the tournament prize pool players accumulate “Gundam Points” for their placement in the tournament and additional bonus points for cashing, having highest hand, the worst beat and being a baller by betting/calling with the weakest hand at a showdown.
The player with the most Gundam Points is declared the World Series of Gundam 2021 Champion and wins the 1st place prize pool and all the extra booty that goes with it! The payout structure for the Championship is determined by using the standard payout structure where the # of players is the average # of players in 2021 WSOG events.
If two or more players tie for first, an 8-Game Mix tournament will determine 1st and 2nd place (or 3rd if it is a 3-way tie, etc.) There can only be one Gundam Champion, position points are NOT the tie-breaker for 1st place. It is resolved with a mini-tournament.
If two or more players tie for any other position (2nd thru last), the tie-breaker goes to the player with the most positional points. In the case where positional points are also equal, the rankings will be considered a tie. If there is prize-money involved it will be added together and then equally split between the players.
Each tournament can be treated as a stand-alone tournament, with its own prize-pool. So, if you aren’t interested in competing for the entire season, you can still have fun playing in any given WSOG tournament (less than 10% of the buy-in is diverted to the WSOG Championship fund.)
